Jacula, an Italian underground rock band formed in Milan in 1968, was composed of organist Charles Tiring, vocalist Doris Norton, multi-instrumentalist Antonio Bartoccetti, and medium Franz Parthenzy. The group's name was inspired by the erotic Italian comic book character Jacula. Their debut album, In cauda semper stat venenum, released in 1969, featured a prominent organ sound and occult-themed lyrics in Latin. Despite limited distribution, the album is now considered a cult classic. In 1972, they released Tardo pede in magiam versus, which showcased Doris Norton's vocals and an atmospheric organ sound. The band disbanded after these releases but reunited in 2011 with the album Pre viam. Jacula's music is characterized by its dark, progressive style and esoteric themes, making them a notable influence on the underground rock scene.
