Jacques Martin, born Jacques Claude Martin on June 22, 1933 in Lyon was a French television host, comedian, and entertainer. He began his career in theater before gaining recognition in the 1960s with the program 1 = 3, co-hosted with Jean Yanne. Alongside his television work, he recorded humorous songs and sketches, including singles such as âLe Rugbymanâ (1964) and âEt voilà pourquoi je suis syndiquéeâ (1968), as well as the collaborative EP Les Ãmancipations dâAlphonse (1966). He later released recordings linked to his shows and projects, including Rox et Rouky (1981). He is best known for hosting long-running programs such as Le Petit Rapporteur, LâÃcole des fans, and Dimanche Martin. He was awarded the Chevalier de la Légion dâhonneur in 1999. Martin died on September 14, 2007.
