Biography

Real name Jack Revill, Scottish DJ Jackmaster was born in Glasgow on January 11, 1986. As a teenager, he was fed by house music produced in Chicago, and in particular by Farley Jackmaster Funk, to whom he owes his stage name. He worked in a record store and mixed at Monox, Glasgow, before releasing his first EPs and mix tapes in 2006. He founded several labels, including Point. One Recordings, Dress 2 Sweat, Seldom Felt, Wirelock and Numbers, and collaborated with Rustie and Hudson Mohawake. A highly sought-after DJ, he appears in the specialist charts and releases mix albums for major publishers, including Fact 21 (2008), Fabriclive 57 (2011), RA.289 (2011) and DJ-Kicks (2016), so much so that in 2016 he won the Sub Club Electronic Award presented by the SSE Scottish Music Awards. In 2020, he founded the TDSR label and focused on his own releases with the EP "Face Your Fate" (2021) and released the EP The Attention Deficit Track (2022) under the Slacker 85 label, produced in collaboration with Skream. Other tracks follow, such as "Let's Go" and the EP Party Going On in 2023, "Nitro" and "Don't You Want My Lovin'" in 2024, then "Bumpin' / Just Get Up" with Avision. On October 12, 2024, he fell during a stay in Ibiza and died at the age of 38.
