Jabier Muguruza Ugarte, born on August 30, 1960, in Irún, Spain, is a musician, accordionist, and Basque writer. He began playing the accordion at age five and officially started his music career in 1989 with the release of the children's album Ja, ja. In 1990, he founded the pop-jazz group Les Mecaniciens, which released three albums before disbanding in 1993. Muguruza then embarked on a solo career as a cantautor, blending rock, pop, and jazz elements. His notable solo albums include Liverpool - Gernika (2004), Taxirik ez (2009), and Geltokiak izarretara (2019). Muguruza received several awards, including the Premio de la Música.
