Ivy Quainoo was born in Berlin on August 25, 1992 and has Ghanaian roots. She rose to fame in 2012 as the winner of the first season of The Voice of Germany. Her victory led directly to the release of her debut album Ivy, which was released on March 2, 2012. The album reaches number 5 in the German charts and is certified gold. The single "Do You Like What You See" is particularly successful , reaching number 2 in the German singles charts and also achieving gold status. Following her debut, Ivy Quainoo releases her second album Wildfires in 2013, which reaches number 40 in the German album charts. With her albums and singles, she moves musically between pop, soul and R&B, which gives her a unique place in the German music landscape. In 2018, Ivy Quainoo represented Germany in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "House on Fire", but did not manage to qualify for the final. In addition to her music career, Ivy Quainoo is also active in film and television productions, including the series Sam - Ein Sachse (2023).
