Biography

It Dies Today is an American metalcore band from Buffalo, New York, that formed in 2001. The founding members included vocalist Nicholas Brooks, guitarist Chris Cappelli, and Steve Lemke. They released the demo Let the Angels Whisper Your Name in 2001 and the EP Forever Scorned in 2002. After signing with Trustkill Records, they released their debut album, The Caitiff Choir in 2004, which sold over 90,000 copies. The band appeared at Ozzfest in 2005. Their second album, Sirens, was released in 2006 and featured the song “Sacred Heart (Sacre Coeur)”, which appeared in the film Jennifer's Body. Following the departure of Brooks in 2007, they recruited Jason Wood as lead vocalist and released the album Lividity in 2009. The group went on hiatus in 2010 but resumed activity in 2023 with the return of Brooks. They subsequently released the singles “Buried by Black Clouds” (2023) and “Son of Dawn” (2024).
