Biography

Espina, a hard rock and metal alternativo band from Querétaro, Mexico, was founded in 2007 by Antonio "Tony" Cortés and guitarist Pedro Espinosa. The initial lineup included César Simón on guitar and vocals, and Manuel Fernández as bassist. Their first demo, Raíces, was released in 2009, featuring songs like "Nos Iremos" and "Nueva Era". In 2012, they released their first EP, Nueva Era, which included tracks such as "Cicatriz" and "Sueño Infiel". The band's debut full-length album, Origen, was recorded in 2015 at Antiqua Recordings with producers José Pastas Padilla, Héctor Carrión, and Fernando Nuñez. This album featured notable songs like "Sobrevivir" and "Más". Espina gained significant recognition by participating in the Road to Corona Hell & Heaven competition in 2016, where they won the state and regional semifinals, advancing to the national final. Throughout their career, Espina shared the stage with international acts such as Rammstein, Megadeth, and Five Finger Death Punch.
