Indus Creed is an Indian rock band based in Mumbai, formed in 1984 as Rock Machine. The original lineup included Mahesh Tinaikar on lead guitar, Mark Selwyn on bass, Ian Santamaria on vocals, Aftab Currim on rhythm guitar, and Suresh Bhadricha on drums. Initially a cover band, they began writing their own songs and released Rock'n'Roll Renegade (1988) and The Second Coming (1990). In 1993, they renamed themselves Indus Creed and experimented with Indian instruments like the tabla and sarangi. Their self-titled debut Indus Creed (1995) featured the songs "Trapped" and "Sleep", while their song "Pretty Child" (1990) won an MTV Asia Video Music Award. They disbanded in 1997 but reunited in 2010 with a new lineup, releasing Evolve (2012) through Universal Music. They won multiple awards at the Jack Daniel's JD Rock Awards 2013, including Best Band, Best Keyboardist, and Best Drummer.
