Born Inayah Lamis in Houston, Texas on November 8, 1989, the R&B and soul singer-songwriter who is best known by her first name. She became interested in music as a toddler and was writing songs by the age of 10. After working for a jingle company, she began her solo career in 2017 when she released a cover of Ella Maiâs âBooâd Up,â which became a viral sensation on social media thanks to celebrities sharing it on their social media accounts. She followed up that popular cover version with original material including her breakthrough hit, âFairy Taleâ (2018). Following several more hit singles in 2019 â âN.A.S.,â âSuga Daddy,â âReal Love,â and the enormously successful âBest Thingâ â she released her debut album, S.O.L.A.R. After issuing the singles â âGo Get That Bâ (2020), âFallinââ (2021), and âWhat Are We?â â she released the EPs Side A (2021) and Insecure (2022). In 2024, Inayah released her sophomore full length album, Wait, Thereâs More, which included the singles âFor the Streetsâ and âHot Sauce.â
