Biography

Made up of singers D'Extra Wiley, Randy Gill (brother of Johnny Gill) and Jermaine Mickey, the R&B group II D Extreme, formed in Washington in 1993, scored a hit that same year with the track "Cry No More", ranked #48 on the Billboard Hot 100. The sensual slow jam hit was taken from the II D Extreme album, which also included covers of "Up on the Roof" (The Drifters) and "Outstanding " (The Gap Band). Released in 1996 on the same Gasoline Alley label, the second album From I Extreme II Another breaks away from classic R&B to diverge into retro soul, rap and New Jack Swing, notably on the track with Cormera "If I Knew Then (What I Know Now)", still featuring those gospel-initiated vocals.
