Biography
Iamthemorning, a Russian progressive rock/chamber pop duo, was formed in 2010 by Marjana Semkina and Gleb Kolyadin. Both members were students at the Conservatory of San Petersburgo. The band took its name from the song "I Am the Morning" on Oceansize's debut album Effloresce. Iamthemorning self-released their first album, ~ , in April 2012. Their second studio album, Belighted, was released by Kscope in September 2014 and featured contributions from Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree. The duo's third album, Lighthouse (2016), included collaborations with Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree and Mariusz Duda of Riverside. Iamthemorning supported tours by Riverside, ÃrstÃðir, and Gazpacho. In 2016, they won the Progressive Music Award for Album of the Year for Lighthouse.
