Biography

Hospitality was an American indie pop trio from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2007 by Amber Papini (vocals, guitar), Brian Betancourt (bass), and Nathan Michel (percussion). The band released their first self-titled EP in 2008 after meeting producer and songwriter Karl Blau at a show. Hospitality signed with Merge Records in September 2011 and released their debut full-length album, Hospitality, in 2012. The album received positive reviews and was listed at number 32 on Rolling Stone's top 50 albums of 2012. Notable singles included "Friends of Friends" and "Betty Wang". Their second album, Trouble, was released in 2014. The band went on hiatus in 2016 when Papini and Michel started a family and relocated to Charleston.
