Biography

Mark Rogers, born on March 3, 1960 in Birmingham, England, is a British singer, pianist, guitarist and songwriter known by his stage name Hollywood Beyond. Initially receiving classical piano training, his interest shifted towards hard rock after being influenced by Black Sabbath concerts, leading him to learn the guitar. He gained live performance experience playing with various Latin jazz bands. Hollywood Beyond's breakthrough came in July 1986 with the release of "What’s the Colour of Money?", which reached Number seven on the UK charts and achieved significant success across Europe, peaking at Number 21 in Germany, Number 15 in Austria, and Number 14 in Switzerland. Produced by Stephen Hague, known for his work with Pet Shop Boys and OMD, this single marked Mark Rogers' entry into mainstream pop music. The follow-up singles "No More Tears" and "Save Me" were released later that year and the next, respectively, though they did not achieve the same level of success. In May 1987, Hollywood Beyond's debut album If was released under Warner Bros. Records, but it also saw modest sales. He made a return to music in the 2000s, releasing More More More on Bangin Records in 2017.
