Biography

Hassisen Kone, a Finnish rock band from Joensuu, was formed in December 1979 with an original lineup consisting of Ismo Alanko, Reijo Heiskanen, Jussi Kinnunen, and Harri Kinnunen. The group initially gained recognition for their new wave punk sound and won the New Wave competition at the Rock SM Cup in Oulu in 1980. Their debut single "Hassisen kone" was released that same year, followed by their first album Täältä tullaan Venäjä. In 1981, Hassisen Kone released their second album Rumat sävelet, which featured the hit song "Jurot nuorisojulkkikset". In 1982, the band released the album Harsoinen teräs. Despite disbanding in the early 1980s, Hassisen Kone left a lasting impact on Finnish rock music, with their albums and songs becoming classics. Notable later releases include the live album 20 vuotta myöhemmin – live 2000 (2010) and the compilation Jurot nuorisojulkkikset – koko tuotanto, koko tarina 1980–1982 (2009).
