Biography

Hard-Fi are an English indie rock band formed in Staines, England in early 2002, who have achieved numerous Top 10 hits with singles such as Cash Machine and Hard To Beat. An eclectic mix of indie rock, punk, soul and ska has gained them critical recognition, especially within the UK. They began their career originally recording songs from bedrooms and pubs, which were well received by critics, gaining local airplay and quickly selling out their first 500 made demos. Debut album Stars Of CCTV was recorded in a disused mini-cab office, reached Number 1 in the UK Album charts following its release in 2005 and sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide. Hard-Fi were nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize, and two BRIT Awards in early 2006. Following on from this success, Hard Fi's second album Once Upon A Time In The West (2007) went straight into the UK Album charts at Number 1, and achieved success in other European and South American countries. Hard-Fi then went on hiatus in 2008 but are currently producing their third album, to be released in late 2010.
