Biography

FrÃ¶belin Palikat, a Finnish children's music band, was formed in 1987 by kindergarten teachers Mats Lillrank, Ari BergstrÃ¶m, and Hannu MÃ¤kelÃ¤. The trio met while studying at Helsingin lastentarhanopettajaopisto from 1981 to 1983. Timo Nuutinen later joined the band. Named after the educational toy blocks designed by Friedrich FrÃ¶bel, the band released their debut album FrÃ¶belin Palikat in 1991. Over the years, they produced a series of albums including Sutsisatsi (1993), SÃ¤tkyukot (1994), and Hippulat vinkumaan (1996). FrÃ¶belin Palikat is one of the best-selling music artists in Finland, with over 420,000 records sold. The band's discography also includes compilations and DVDs, such as Jaksaa heilua (2012) and FrÃ¶belin Palikat: Live Tavastialla (2014).
