Kanba Hirayama is a Japanese singer and performer from Tochigi City, born on September 19, 1998. She started her musical journey at a young age, gaining early recognition in 2015 when, as a high school freshman, she won the "Champion of the Week" title at the NHK *Nodojiman* competition in Oyamashi, Tochigi, by performing Yoko Nagayama's âJonkara Onna Bushi.â After high school, she pursued vocal training at the ESP Musical Academy, honing her skills for two years. In 2019, Hirayama worked for five years at Iwashita Foods in Tochigi, known for its popular "Iwashita Shinshoga" commercials. Her big break came in 2024 when she participated in a karaoke competition for the 55th-anniversary song of Hiroko Matsumae, âOnna no Koiji,â where she won the grand prize. This led to her being personally scouted by Matsumae, joining the Miigan Production agency. Under Matsumaeâs mentorship, Hirayama further honed her craft, gaining stage experience performing cover songs at concerts and assisting behind the scenes. Hirayamaâs official debut came on January 21, 2026, with the release of her single "Ajisai Zaka", marking the beginning of her professional career as a recording artist.
