Biography

The Hacienda Brothers, an American alternative country band, formed in 2002 when Chris Gaffney and Dave Gonzalez played together during a planned jam session at a mutual friend's birthday party. The duo, along with Dave Berzansky, Dale Daniel, and Hank Maninger, released their debut album Hacienda Brothers in 2005, produced by Dan Penn. Their second album, What's Wrong With Right, followed in 2006 and received critical acclaim, including a nomination for Group of the Year by the American Music Association. In 2007, they released their live album Music For Ranch & Town. Tragically, Gaffney passed away from liver cancer in April 2008 while recording their third studio album, Arizona Motel, which was released later in the same year and received great critical acclaim. The band continued to tour, and a tribute album to Gaffney, A Man of Somebody's Dreams: A Tribute to the Songs of Chris Gaffney, was released in 2009.
