Biography

H M Kongens Gardes Musikkorps, a Norwegian military band, was established in 1856 as part of The King's Guard. Initially consisting of three buglers playing camp signals, the group evolved into a full-fledged musical unit providing entertainment and ceremonial music at Huseby Leir. The band became known for its participation in various military tattoos and state ceremonies, notably gaining international recognition after participating in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 1961. In 1962, the Band Corps was officially formed, dividing into a main marching band and a drum, bugle, and trumpet corps. H M Kongens Gardes Musikkorps has released several albums, including For Full Musikk (1988), Gardekonsert (1996), and Norwegian Colours (1999).
