Biography
GWLT, a German punk band from Munich, was formed in 2013 by singer David Mayonga and guitarist Chris Zehetleitner. The group later expanded to include Florian Gudzent on guitar, Michael Kokus on bass, and Fabian Füss on drums. Zehetleitner, Füss, and Gudzent previously played in the bands Emil Bulls, The Blackout Argument, and The New Recruits. In their debut year, GWLT released their first EP Ohne Anfang Ohne Ende through Acuity.Music. Later that year, they released "Psychogenese in Zeiten der Apokalypse" and "Wir sind keine Helden," which were subsequently bundled together as the EP-Trias. The band's music combines elements of hardcore punk, rap, and crossover, with lyrics addressing social issues such as hatred, racism, and political extremism. In 2015, GWLT signed with Arising Empire and released their debut album Stein & Eisen on January 29, 2016. Following the release, GWLT embarked on the Togetherfest Tour, performing as openers alongside bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Modern Life Is War, and Touché Amoré across Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
