Gurriers are a poker-hot Irish indie-rock quintet known for their raw energy, rebellious spirit, and politically charged lyrics. Formed in Dublin, the band consists of five members—singer Dan Hoff, drummer Pearce Callaghan, guitarist Mark MacCormack, guitarist and backing vocalist Ben O'Neil, and bassist Charlie McCarthy (who joined in 2024)—who have quickly made a name for themselves with their loud, aggressive sound that blends elements of post-punk, noise rock, and indie. Gurriers’ music is marked by its intense, driving guitar riffs, pounding rhythms, and confrontational vocal delivery, capturing the angst and restlessness of youth in a rapidly changing world. Lyrically, the band addresses themes like social inequality, political corruption, and the frustrations of modern life, channeling these ideas into anthemic tracks that resonate with a new generation of indie and punk fans. Their sound draws comparisons to bands like Fontaines D.C., Idles, and Girl Band, with a gritty edge that makes their live performances electric and unpredictable. After forming during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, they set about releasing their debut single "Top of the Bill" in 2021. Since their formation, Gurriers have quickly gained attention in the Irish and UK indie scenes, performing at major festivals and earning a reputation for their relentless energy on stage. They have since added a string of singles and EPs to their repertoire, culminating in their critically acclaimed debut album Come and See, released in 2024.
