Biography

GumX was a punk band from Seoul, Republic of Korea. The group originally consisted of Lee Yong-won on vocals and guitar, Lee Keun-young on bass, and Choi Gun on drums. Formed in 2000, GumX gained initial recognition with the release of their debut album What's Been Up? in March 19, 2003, which featured the notable song "Hymn to Love". The band followed up with Green Freakzilla in 2004. Between 2005 and 2007, all members served their mandatory military service. After completing their duties, GumX released their third album Old on July 17, 2008. Following this release, the band disbanded, with frontman Lee Yong-won later joining Yellow Monsters in 2010. Lee Yong-won later re-ignited the group with new members Yuto (drums, vocals) and Yoshi (bass, vocals) in 2019. Their single "Oh Oh Oh," released on November 12, 2025, entered Melon's Top 500 Melon domestic chart at rank 9 on its release day.
