Biography

Guido Morini is an Italian composer, pianist, and organist who was born in 1959 in Milan. He is an expert in early music and historical performance practice and co-founded the ensemble Accordone in 1984 with the singer Marco Beasley. Morini has worked as a harpsichordist and conductor, appearing at major international festivals including the Salzburg Festival. His compositions include the one-act opera Una Odissea (2002) and the sacred work Vivifice Spiritus Vitae Vis (2005). He followed these with the opera Una Iliade (2009) and the recording Passio (2012). His discography with Accordone includes the albums Via Toledo and Il Settecento Napoletano (2007). Morini also released the recording Improvisando - Il Jazz del Cinquecento (2001) in collaboration with Paolo Pandolfo and Thomas Boysen.
