Biography

Meredith Marie Godreau, known professionally as Gregory and the Hawk, is an American singer-songwriter. She began her musical journey under this pseudonym in 2003, drawing inspiration from artists such as Nick Drake, Liz Phair, and PJ Harvey. Her early work included a demo EP featuring songs like "Boats and Birds" and "Isabelle". In 2006, she self-released the Boats and Birds EP, which marked her first significant release. The following year, Gregory and the Hawk released their debut full-length album, In Your Dreams, independently. This album garnered positive reviews and led to a signing with FatCat Records in 2008. Under this label, she released "Ghost" as a single and the album Moenie and Kitchi. The band embarked on extensive tours supporting acts like múm and The Album Leaf. In 2010, Godreau self-recorded her next album, Leche, which was later released in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
