Golpes Bajos was a Spanish pop band formed in 1982 in Vigo, Galicia. Initially a duo, it consisted of Germán Coppini on vocals and Teo Cardalda on keyboards, later joined by Pablo Novoa on guitar and Luis GarcÃa on bass. The group emerged from the Vigo music scene often associated with La Movida, which ran parallel to La Movida Madrileña, and gained early recognition after submitting a demo that won the Rock Espezial competition for new bands. This led to the release of their self-titled EP (1983), featuring âMalos tiempos para la lÃricaâ and âNo mires a los ojos de la gente,â which brought them wider attention, including an appearance on the television program La edad de oro. Their debut album A Santa Compaña was released in 1984, followed by the EP Devocionario in 1985. Internal disagreements over artistic direction led to their dissolution in September 1985. The group reunited in 1997 to record Vivo (1998), featuring new versions of earlier material and some new songs, but disbanded again in 1998.
