Glaxo Babies, a Bristol-based post-punk band, formed in late 1977. The initial lineup included Tom Nichols on bass, Dan Catsis on guitar, Geoff Alsopp on drums, and Rob Chapman as the singer. Their first gig took place just three weeks after formation at The Dockland Settlement in St Pauls, Bristol. In 1979, they released their debut EP This is Your Life on Heartbeat Records. After lineup changes, including the addition of Tony Wrafter on saxophone and Charlie Llewellin on drums, Rob Chapman departed due to artistic differences. The remaining members released their debut album, Nine Months to the Disco, in 1980, which reached number 8 on the UK Indie Chart. The band disbanded shortly after but reformed in 1985 and continued recording until 1990. Notable releases include Dreams Interrupted (The Bewilderbeat Years 1978-1980) (2006) and The Porlock Factor (Psych Dreams and Other Schemes 1985â1990) (2007).
