Biography

Considered one of the greatest violinists of the Baroque repertoire, Giuliano Carmignola (b. 1951, Treviso, Italy) was immersed in music from an early age, learning the instrument at the tender age of five. Noted at an early age for the musicality of his style, the student of the conservatories of Siena and Geneva - with Henryk Szeryng - multiplied his recitals between Europe and the United States, before recording for the Divox, Erato, Teldec and Sony Classical labels, for which he created three Vivaldi concertos, as well as an acclaimed interpretation of the Four Seasons, conducted by Andrea Marcon in 2000. The Venetian composer was again in the spotlight with the following recordings: Late Violin Concertos (2001), Concerto Veneziano (2005), Vivaldi: Violin Concertos (2006), Concertos for Two Violins with Viktoria Mullova (2008), Concerto Italiano (2009) and Vivaldi Con Moto (2013). In 2014, he performed Bach's Violin Concertos with Concerto KÃ¶ln. Professor of violin at the Marcello Conservatory in Venice, then in Lucerne and Chigiana (Siena), Giuliano Carmignola regularly appears on the bill of Europe's leading festivals.
