Biography

Giant Robot, also known as Giant Räbät, is a Helsinki-based group that blended electronic music with live instruments and covered styles such as hip hop, dub, funk, and krautrock. The band released their first self-published EP, 33 RPM Robotics, in 1997. They rose to public attention in 1999 with the single "Helsinki Rock City," the same year they released their debut full-length album, Crushing You with Style. Their discography continued with the album Superweekend in 2002, which included the singles "Dancehall Dominator" and "Heartbreakdance." The group later released the album Domesticity in 2004, followed by the single "Public=Shopping" and the record "1. erä" in 2008.
