Germán Cipriano Teodoro Gómez Valdés y Castillo, known professionally as Tin Tan, was born on September 19, 1915, in Ciudad de México. He began his career working at a local radio station in Ciudad Juárez before being discovered by Paco Miller and launched into stardom under the name Tin Tan in 1943. His career spanned several decades, during which he released numerous albums, including Tin Tan y su carnal Marcelo, volumen 2 (1966) and Tin Tan (1997). His breakthrough came with early singles like "El gitano de Texas / Vida mia", establishing him as a prominent figure in Mexican rock music. He also ventured into acting, starring in films such as El hijo desobediente (1945). Tin Tan's distinctive style earned him the nickname "El Elvis Presley de los Pachucos." He passed away on June 29, 1973, in Ciudad de México. Posthumous releases include singles, such as "El gitano de Texas" and "Vida mia", under the compilation 15 Ãxitos (2008).
