Biography

Reginald Vermue, known professionally as Gentleman Reg, is a Canadian indie rock singer born in Trenton, Ontario. His career began with the release of his first album, The Theoretical Girl, in 2000 on Three Gut Records. He followed this with Make Me Pretty (2002) and Darby & Joan (2004), also released under Three Gut before the label dissolved in 2005. Vermue then signed to Arts & Crafts, releasing Little Buildings, a compilation of tracks from his earlier albums, in 2008. His first album of new material for Arts & Crafts, Jet Black, was released in 2009 and marked his first proper studio album in the United States. Vermue's music has been featured in various films including Shortbus and on the television show Queer as Folk. He also performed with bands like The Hidden Cameras, Broken Social Scene, and Light Fires under the persona Regina Gently.
