Biography

Geirr Lystrup, born on March 22, 1949, in Vinje, Norway, is a singer, poet, playwright, and children's writer. His career began with the release of his debut album Ti på taket og Måltrostblues in 1972. Lystrup's breakthrough came with "Songen om kjærligheta" from the 1981 album of the same name, which won the Spellemannprisen. He received the Prøysenprisen in 1987. In 1988, Lystrup's work with the group Godtfolk resulted in the album Egg og Champagne, which also won a Spellemannprisen. His theatrical contributions included the play Brakar og Johanna, staged at Riksteatret for his 50th anniversary in 1999. Throughout his career, Lystrup released numerous albums, including Ut av din draum (1976), I menneskenes land (1979), and Krystallslottet (1999).
