Hansson & Karlsson was a Swedish duo consisting of Bo Hansson on organ and Janne 'Loffe' Carlsson on drums, active in the late 1960s. The band, which played instrumental jazz fusion largely based on improvisation, is considered one of the pioneers of progressive rock. Their first album, Monument, was released in 1967, followed by Rex (1968) and Man at the Moon (1969). They also recorded a single, "Lidingö Airport" released in 1967. The duo had notable collaborations with Jimi Hendrix during his performances in Stockholm, including Hendrix's recording of their piece "Tax Free". After a few years, Hansson & Karlsson disbanded. Bo Hansson continued his musical career while Janne Carlsson pursued acting. Bo Hansson died in 2010 and Janne Carlsson passed away from liver cancer in August 2017 at the age of 80.
