Biography

Gayngs is a Minneapolis-based Midwest indie rock band founded in 2010. The groupâs debut album Relayted (2010) received positive reviews for its unique vocal stylings and retro-but-contemporary sound inspired by 1980s soft rock. In May 2010, they staged a release party for "The Last Prom on Earth" at First Avenue in Minneapolis, where Prince watched from the side stage. The band's subsequent tour was cut short due to logistical issues and their songs "The Gaudy Side of Town" and "The Walker" appeared on Tim Heideckerâs 2012 film The Comedy. After a nine-year hiatus, Gayngs released the single "Appeayl 2 U" (2020) via an online music distribution platform.
