Biography

Frou Frou is the result of a meeting between singer/keyboardist Imogen Heap and producer/musician Guy Sigsworth. Sigsworth, renowned for his work on Björk's Homogenic (1997) and Vespertine (2001) albums and with Madonna, met the singer while working on her 1998 album I Megaphone. The project quickly evolved in the minds of the two musicians and, like other duos such as Portishead, moved towards a downtempo electronic style tinged with drum'n'bass and trip-hop. The result was the 2002 single "Let Go", followed by the Billboard Dance Club Song Charts hits "Must Be Dreaming " and "Breathe In", which appeared on the album Details. In 2004, the duo, whose name is inspired by a poem by Baudelaire, composed the track "Holding Out of a Hero" for the Shrek 2 soundtrack, while "Let Go" was included in the film Garden State. The project, which seemed to come to an end when the protagonists returned to their respective activities, was reborn in 2019 with the release of the track "Guitar Song", added to the unreleased EP Off Cuts (2022). Subsequently, "A New Kind of Love" and "Deal with It" are remixed.
