Biography

Gaute Ormåsen, born on April 20, 1983, in Brumunddal, Norway, is a Norwegian singer. He rose to prominence in 2003 when he participated in the first season of Idol, the Norwegian equivalent of Pop Idol. Although he finished as the runner-up to Kurt Nilsen, his participation marked the beginning of his music career. Ormåsen released his debut album, New Kid un Town, the same year. His subsequent albums include G For Gaute (2006), Drømmesang (2008), and Oss Imellom (2010). Notable singles include "Chasing Rainbows" (2003) and "Du + Jeg = Vi" (2007). In 2022, Ormåsen was part of the group Subwoolfer, which represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Give That Wolf a Banana". Additionally, he has appeared in the TV series Hotel Cæsar and has participated several times in Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian preselection for the Eurovision Song contest.
