Daniele Gaudi, professionally known as Gaudi, was born on July 12, 1963, in Italy. He began his music career in the early 1980s as a keyboardist for underground bands before founding Raptus, considered one of Italyâs earliest Italian-language hip-hop acts. In 1987, performing under the name Lele Gaudì, he released the single "Malinconico Love" and later his debut album, Basta Poco, in 1990. Over the course of his career, Gaudi has worked across dub, electronica, reggae, and worldbeat, producing and collaborating on internationally recognized releases, including the Billboard Reggae Chart-topping albums Mass Manipulation by Steel Pulse and Heavy Rain by Lee âScratchâ Perry.
