Salvatore, a Norwegian instrumental rock band, was formed in Oslo in 1998 by John Birger Wormdahl, Ola Fløttum, Bjarne Larsen, and Kjell-Olav Jørgensen. Inspired by the German Krautrock band Neu!, they won the Norwegian music contest "Zoom" in 1998 and embarked on a tour. Their debut album Clingfilm was released in October 2000, followed by Jugend - A New Hedonism in November. In 2001, Jon Platou Selvig joined the band, and their third album Fresh was released. Salvatore's fourth album, Tempo, recorded in Chicago and mixed by John McEntire, won the Spellemannprisen 2002 award for Best Record in the Electronica Genre. The band continued to tour extensively across Europe and released several more albums, including Luxus (2004) and Days of Rage (2007). The latter won a Spellemannprisen award. Salvatore disbanded in June 2008 due to logistical challenges and creative stagnation.
