Gasolin' was a Danish rock band formed in Christianshavn, Copenhagen, in 1969. The group consisted of Kim Larsen, Franz Beckerlee, Wili Jønsson, and initially Bjørn Uglebjerg as drummer, later replaced by Søren Berlev in 1971. Their early English-language singles did not achieve success, but their debut album Gasolin' (1971) marked a shift to Danish lyrics and became a breakthrough. In the 1970s, Gasolin' became Denmarkâs most popular rock band, releasing notable albums such as Gasolin' 3 (1973) and Efter endnu en dag (1976). The band disbanded in August 1978 due to personal differences. Posthumously, they have been celebrated with compilations like Rabalderstræde Forever (1990) and the documentary film Gasolin': The Album Collection (2008).
