Biography

Garnet Rogers, born May 1955 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, is a folk musician, singer, songwriter and composer. Raised in Binbrook, Ontario, and spending summers in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, Rogers began his professional career arranging music for his elder brother Stan Rogers. Following Stan's death in a plane crash on June 2, 1983, Rogers pursued his own career. His debut album Garnet Rogers was released in 1984, followed by The Outside Track in 1986. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, Rogers released several albums including Speaking Softly in the Dark (1988) and Small Victories (1990). His live album Summer Lightning "Live" was released in 1994. Notable songs include "All That Is", "Sleeping Buffalo", and "Night Drive". Rogers' collaborations include work with Doug McArthur and Doug Long. He has also written a memoir titled Night Drive, detailing his travels with Stan.
