Fræbbblarnir, an Icelandic punk band from Kópavogur, formed in 1978 at Menntaskólinar de Kópavogur. The original lineup included Stefán Karl Guðjónsson, Valgarður Guðjónsson, Ãorsteinn HallgrÃmsson, Hálfdan Ãór Karlsson, and Barði Valdimarsson. Their first concert was held on November 25, 1978, at the Myrkramessa festival, initially intended as a one-off performance to mock their professor. The band's early influences included punk rock groups like The Clash and Ramones. Fræbbblarnir released their first single "False Death" in 1980, followed by the album Viltu Nammi, Væna, which achieved significant success. They continued with releases such as Bjór (1981), Poppþéttar melódÃur à rokkréttu samhengi (1982) and Warkweld in the West (1982). The band disbanded in early 1983 but reunited in 1996, releasing albums such as Dásamleg sönnun um framhaldslÃf (2000) and Dót (2004). Fræbbblarnir celebrated their 35th anniversary with a concert on November 25, 2013.
