Four to the Bar was an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1991 within the working-class Irish immigrant community of Woodside, Queens. The initial lineup included Martin Kelleher on bass guitar, David Yeates on vocals and flute, David Livingstone on mandolin, and Gerry Singleton on guitar. Their first significant performance was as an opening act for Sharon Shannon at the Bog in Jamaica Plain. In 1993, they released their debut EP Four to the Bar. The band's lineup stabilized with the addition of Patrick Clifford on bass and Keith O'Neill on fiddle. They gained regional attention performing at venues like Tommy Makem's Irish Pavilion and Paddy Reilly's Music Bar. Their first live album, Craic on the Road: Live at Sam Maguire's, was recorded and released in 1994. Four to the Bar disbanded in 1996 following a fire that destroyed their equipment on New Year's Eve 1995 during a performance in Woodside, NY.
