Four Hundred Years was an American emo band formed in Arizona in 1998, which later relocated to Richmond, Virginia. Their initial release was the EP Four Hundred Years in 1997, followed by their debut album Suture. Four Hundred Years gained attention for their emotionally charged lyrics and dynamic sound, blending mid-tempo D.C. hardcore punk with melodic elements. They released two more albums, Transmit Failure (1998) and The New Imperialism (2000), before disbanding in 2000. The band's impact was significant despite their short career, influencing the emo genre and touring across the USA, Europe, and Japan.
