Foster Emerson Sylvers, born on February 25, 1962, in the United States of America, is a singer known for his contributions to soul music. His career began with the release of his debut album Foster Sylvers in June 1973. The first single from this album, "Misdemeanor", written by his brother Leon Sylvers III, became a hit that summer, reaching number 7 on the Billboard R&B chart. This success was followed by a cover of Dee Clark's "Hey Little Girl", which charted at number 63 R&B in fall 1973. These releases led to appearances on popular TV shows such as American Bandstand and Soul Train. In 1974, Sylvers released his second album, Foster Sylvers Featuring Pat & Angie Sylvers. By 1975, he joined his siblings in the family act The Sylvers, contributing to their album Showcase. He co-sang lead with his brother Edmund on the Number 1 Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Soul Singles song "Boogie Fever". Foster released another self-titled album called Foster Sylvers in early 1978. Later, he collaborated on various projects, including work with Dynasty and Evelyn "Champagne" King. In the late 1980s, Sylvers recorded two albums as Foster Sylvers & Hy-Tech: Plain & Simple for EMI America in 1987 and Prime Time for A&M in 1990.
