Biography

Starkill is an American melodic death metal and symphonic metal band from Chicago, Illinois, that formed in 2012. The ensemble was established by brothers Parker Jameson and Spencer Weidner, who met the guitarist Charlie Federici while studying at Indiana University. After signing with Century Media Records, they released their debut studio album, Fires of Life, in 2013. They followed this with the recording Virus of the Mind (2014) and later signed with Prosthetic Records for their third album, Shadow Sleep (2016). Their fourth recording, Gravity, was released in 2019 and featured the singer Sarah Lynn Collier alongside guest performances by musicians from the bands Epica and Turisas. The group became inactive during the COVID-19 pandemic but resumed activity in 2024 and began work on a fifth studio album. Their discography includes several singles, including the tracks “Until We Fall” (2018), “Burn Your World” (2020), and “Ruin” (2022).
