Biography

The Flobots, an American rap rock group from Denver, Colorado, were formed in 2005 by Jamie Laurie. The band's origins date back to a similar project by Jamie Laurie in the mid-1990s, which resulted in two self-released cassette tapes. In 2005, Jamie Laurie reformed the project under the name The Flobots with a new lineup that included MC/vocalist Stephen "Brer Rabbit" Brackett and other musicians. Their debut EP Flobots Present...Platypus was released in 2005. The band's breakthrough came with their major label debut album Fight With Tools, released on October 16, 2007. The single "Handlebars" from this album became a popular hit on Modern Rock radio in April 2008 and peaked at Number 3 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. Fight With Tools reached Number 15 on the Billboard charts. Following this success, The Flobots performed at various festivals, including KROQ Weenie Roast and Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival. Their subsequent albums include Survival Story, released in March 2010, featuring the single "White Flag Warrior" with Tim McIlrath of Rise Against; and The Circle In The Square, released in August 2012. In May 2017, they released their fourth studio album, Noenemies.
