Biography

Marina Fiordaliso was born on 19 February 1956 in Piacenza, Italy, and began her musical education at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Nicolini, studying piano and voice from an early age. Her professional breakthrough came in the late 1970s when she joined the Bagutti orchestra, recording the single "I Need the Sea" (1980) that introduced her distinctive pop‑rock style. In 1981, Fiordaliso was discovered by Salvatore De Pasquale, leading to her first solo appearance at the Castrocaro competition where she won first place with "Scappa Via", a track that would later appear only on the compilation Castrocaro '81.Fiordaliso’s debut studio album, Fiordaliso, was released in 1983 under Durium, followed by Non Voglio Mica La Luna in 1984, which featured the title track that became a chart entry in Italy. She continued to release albums through the 1980s, including Applausi a Fiordaliso (1986) and Fiordaliso (1987), and entered the 1990s with Il Meglio Vol.3 (1995) and Made In Italy (2004). Notable collaborations included work with Zucchero Fornaciari and Pupo, while her single "Canto del Sole Inesauribile" (2009) showcased her enduring vocal presence. Fiordaliso’s career is marked by sustained popularity in the Italian pop scene and a legacy of recordings that continue to be celebrated by fans and collectors alike.
