Filthy Dukes were formed in London, England, by Olly Dixon, Tim Lawton, and Mark Ralph, with Dixon handling sampling, percussion, and electric guitar, Lawton on synthesiser and lead vocals, and Ralph on bass guitar and backing vocals. The trio promoted club nights and DJ sets for Mylo, Hotâ¯Chip, and LCDâ¯Soundsystem, while remixing tracks for Lateâ¯ofâ¯theâ¯Pier, Theâ¯Rakes, and Theâ¯Maccabees, before adding Ralph to the live lineup. Their breakthrough came with the single "Tupac Robot Club Rock" released on Fiction Records, featuring Philadelphia hipâhop group Plasticâ¯Little; the track entered the UK Singles Chart at numberâ¯96. In 2009, the group issued their debut studio album Nonsense In The Dark on 16â¯March, followed by the compilation FabricLive.48 the same year. The band collaborated with Sarah Harding of Girlsâ¯Aloud on a track for the film Wild Child (2008) and contributed remixes for artists such as Kevin Rudolf and Blocâ¯Party. Filthy Dukes remained active until the early 2010s.
