Biography

Fernanda Castro (born November 11, 1999, in Mexico City) is a Mexican singer-songwriter who built a Latin-pop career after formal training at Berklee College of Music and early exposure to television studios through her family. The daughter of actress Angélica Rivera and producer José Alberto “El Güero” Castro—and formerly the stepdaughter of former president Enrique Peña Nieto—she began releasing music independently in 2022 with the single “Me da igual,” introducing a guitar-driven pop style. She followed on March 31, 2023 with the seven-track EP Mejor que nunca, consolidating a polished, contemporary sound and setting up a run of singles. In 2023 she also revisited earlier material with “Cuando Salga el Sol” in collaboration with songwriter-producer Pablo Vamer. Momentum continued into 2024 with “Soy de Ti,” supported by a video rollout and playlist placements that widened her audience. In 2025 she expanded her catalog with “No Sabía,” “Noches de Verano” with La Espe, and “Soñarte” with Daniela Arredondo, marking steady growth from independent releases to higher-profile collaborations. The pivotal moment arrived on September 1, 2025, when she and cousin Cristian Castro released “Hilos del Pasado,” the main theme for TelevisaUnivision’s telenovela Los hilos del pasado, a production led by her father.
