Biography

Honk, an American rock band based in Laguna Beach, California, was formed in 1970. The group's initial breakthrough came with their album The Original Sound Track from Five Summer Stories, released in 1972, a soundtrack for the surf documentary film Five Summer Stories. In the early 1970s, Honk toured extensively with notable acts such as The Beach Boys, Chicago, Jackson Browne, and Dave Mason. Their album, Honk, was released in 1973. The band split up in 1975 but reformed in 1985 and continued to perform occasionally. Notable members include Tris Imboden, who later became the drummer for Kenny Loggins Band and Chicago, and Richard Stekol, who co-wrote "Mr. Night" with Kenny Loggins for the soundtrack of Caddyshack. In 1991, they released the album Coach House Live through Restless Records.
