Biography

Farid Farjad, born in 1938 in Tehran, Iran, was an Iranian-American violinist known for his interpretations of classical Persian music and his knowledge of Persian folk music. He studied violin at the Conservatory of Music in Tehran, graduating with a Master's degree in Classical Music in 1966. Farjad then became the first violinist in the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and taught classical violin at the conservatory. Following the Islamic Revolution in 1979, he relocated to the United States. His musical output includes five albums titled Anroozha, released between 1989 and 2006, accompanied by pianist Abdi Yamini. Notable songs from these albums include "Sari Galin" (1987), "Shekare Ahoo Va Jane Maryam" (1987), and "Ghoghaye Setaregan" (1989).
